The President of the Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MNCCI), Lkhagvajav presented the results of the 2024 study entitled “The Burden of Regulation Index and Costs” to the Minister of Economy and Development, Uchral, and the Chief of the Authority for Government Supervision, Battsetseg. According to the study, the burden of regulation index for 2024 reached 2.85, improving by 4.8% compared to 2021, but failed even to reach the level of 2018. The evaluation of the burden of government services stood at 3.10, with registration (2.99) and permitting services (3.01) indexes remaining the most challenging concern. Entrepreneurs spend, on an average, 12 days receiving a single service, and 65% of them provide the same information to multiple organizations.
During the meeting, the MNCCI and the AGS agreed to cooperate on reducing the difficulties and redundancies of government services faced by entrepreneurs, improving the integration of information, and expanding digitalization. As part of this cooperation, the parties emphasized the implementation of concrete measures to improve the business environment, make government services more accessible and efficient, and reduce bureaucratic hurdles for micro and small businesses.
